Alison Rini FCRH ’21 was featured in The Fordham Ram for her research project, “Mapping Ethnic Histories of the Bronx,” that she conducted in Fall 2018 on the Bronx Italian American History Initiative and the Bronx African American History Project. Using these oral history archives to map personal stories of multi-ethnic encounters in the Bronx, Rini created a digital map using the Knightlab software from the University of Chicago to visualize and re-imagine the urban spaces inhabited by individuals of differing ethnic and racial identities  in the 20th century. Her project was mentored by Dr. Kathleen LaPenta of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures.
